With the grey winter sky and chilly temps I am holing up in my apartment today and skipping my usual Sunday morning Starbucks run. Instead I decided to try an Almond Milk Turmeric Vanilla Latte recipe. Last year my hubby bought me a milk frother and I am always excited to try new recipes. This Turmeric Vanilla latte couldn’t be easier and I guarantee you already have all of the necessary spices in your pantry. Don’t fret, if you don’t have a milk frother you can easily whip this up on the stove in a small saucepan. It won’t give you the foamy topper a frother does, but it’s still just as delicious!

Vanilla Turmeric Latte

A warm and spicy tea latte made with ground turmeric, spices, honey, and almond milk.

Ingredients
  1. 1 cup almond milk (you can also substitute regular milk)
  2. 1 teaspoon honey
  3. 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
  4. 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  5. 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  6. Pinch freshly ground black pepper
  7. 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  8. Dash of ground nutmeg
Instructions
  1. Set a small saucepan over low heat. Add the almond milk, 1 teaspoon honey, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and black pepper and stir with a whisk until combined.
  2. Bring to steaming, just below a simmer. Do not let it come to a boil. Keep just below a simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat. Stir in the vanilla. Taste and add additional honey if desired (I like about 2 teaspoons).
  4. Use a frother to froth the tea, if desired. Pour into a mug and spoon the froth over the top. Serve.
