Slow Cooker Chicken Wings

It’s officially Super Bowl week – that means time to start prepping your game day favorites for this Sunday’s Super Bowl game! I’ll be entering New England Patriots territory this week to visit my parents and wanted to bring along some new recipes to enjoy for our family Super Bowl Party in Maine! For casual party occasions such as the Super Bowl I’m a big believer in hauling out the slow cooker and making at least one item that can simmer and slow cook all day long – it’s WAY easier for the hostess and feeds a large crowd! Chili is an easy go to for Super Bowl parties but everyone expects the Slow Cooker to be filled with chili – this year I decided to try chicken wings in the slow cooker! Who would have thought?! These chicken wings are cooked with root beer and barbecue sauce in the slow cooker – then placed on a baking sheet, slathered in more sauce, sprinkled with brown sugar, and browned in the oven for a few minutes more. Get your napkins ready!
