YUM! Who doesn’t love a frozen treat during the hot summer months and on top of that a frozen treat dipped in delicious ooey gooey Nutella! ME, ME, ME! I found this recipe recently and just about died with excitement to try it out! It’s incredibly simple and quick to make for a last minute dessert idea for a BBQ or even fun afternoon treat for yourself! I enjoyed mine with a delicious glass of Pinot Noir which made the hazelnut chocolate that much more decadent! Get out those craft Popsicle sticks and start dipping and freezing!
- 3 ripe but firm bananas
- 1 cup Nutella
- Crushed nuts, shredded coconut, and sprinkles can be used for garnish
- Peel and halve the bananas crosswise. Insert a popsicle stick into each half. Place the bananas on a parchment lined baking sheet and chill in the freezer for 20 minutes.
- Place the Nutella in a small bowl. Roll each banana in the Nutella or spread using a small spatula. If you find your Nutella is too firm, you can warm it very briefly (15 seconds or so) in the microwave, stir it well, and roll the bananas to coat. Garnish with crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or sprinkles if you wish. Place the bananas back on the parchment lined sheet and return to the freezer to chill for 30 minutes. Then you are ready to eat!
