Summer Sangria

Sangria is such a classic summer cocktail! It’s light, refreshing, packed with lots of fresh fruit, chilled and the base is red wine (my absolute favorite!). Sangria is a great summer party beverage and so easy to whip together! You can make the night before and keep chilled in the fridge and simply add the club soda once ready to serve. I always suggest making a double batch because it always is the first drink to go after the oohh’s and ahhh’s follow the first sip! This weekend for 4th of July you can even jazz up with more red and blue fruit like blueberries and strawberries and add mini american flag into your citrus slices for a little festive flair!

Summer Sangria
  • 2 bottles chilled dry red wine
  • 1 cup brandy
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • ¼ cup superfine granulated sugar
  • 2 oranges, cut into thin rounds
  • 1 lemon, cut into thin rounds
  • 1 lime, cut into thin rounds
  • 2 apples, cored and cut into ½-inch chunks
  • 2 pears, cored and cut into ½-inch chunks
  • 2 cups cold club soda
  • Ice
  1. In a large pot or bowl, combine the wine, brandy, orange juice, and sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add the orange, lemon, and lime slices, the apples, and pears, and refrigerate until well chilled, about 1 hour.
  3. Remove from the refrigerator and add the soda. Serve in glasses over ice.
