Layered Dig Deep Salad

This seven layer dig deep salad is a perfect party salad! It’s so easy to make and cart with you to a party and has a fabulous, festive presentation! I make this all the time during the summer months and always get rave reviews from friends and family! The key is showing off all of the beautiful layers in a glass bowl and ensuring you have extra long tongs to dig deep to capture each layer of the salad while you plate up your portion.

Layered Dig Deep Salad
  • 5 cups chopped green leaf lettuce
  • 2 cups seeded, chopped tomatoes
  • 2 cups chopped yellow bell pepper
  • 1 (12-ounce) package frozen green peas, thawed
  • 2 cups chopped radishes
  • 2 cups diced seedless cucumber
  • 2 cups mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh chives
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh dill
  • 4 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Shredded Cheddar cheese for garnish
  • Crumbled cooked bacon for garnish
  1. In a 3½-quart glass bowl, layer lettuce, tomatoes, bell pepper, peas, radishes, and cucumber.
  2. To make the dressing combine mayonnaise, chives, dill, Dijon mustard, onion powder, and pepper in a small bowl, stirring well.
  3. Top the salad with dressing, spreading edges to seal. Cover, and refrigerate for 4 hours to overnight.
  4. Garnish with with the shredded cheddar cheese and crumbles bacon.
